We offer to make an unforgettable excursion to one of the most interesting regions of Georgia – Kakheti. This part of Georgia is known not only for being the birthplace of Georgian winemaking. Kakheti is a region with a rich ancient history, in which you can dive during our One-day tour “Kakheti: Sighnaghi – Bodbe Monastery – Tsinandali – Telavi”.

During this tour, you will visit the Bodbe Monastery, in which St. Nino is buried, and then you will have a trip to the city of Love – Sighnaghi with its fortress wall and wonderful views of the Alazani Valley. You can also try and buy excellent Georgian wine right in its homeland – in Kakheti.

On the road, which will take about 2 hours, you will receive comprehensive and historically accurate information about the fortresses and other sights of Kakheti, which will be found along the road, and about the city of Sighnagi. But, of course, the most important and interesting part of our narration will be the story of the life and work of St. Nino. During our tour you will learn about the history of the emergence of Christianity in Georgia. It is really very interesting.

Sighnaghi – City of Love

In the town of Sighnaghi, which is known around the clock wedding palace and, of course, its ancient history, you will be accompanied by a guide on a walk along the fortress wall, which offers breathtaking views of the Alazani valley and the snow-capped peaks of the Caucasus Mountains. By the way, the length of the wall in Sighnaghi is almost the second after the Great Wall of China.

Tsinandali Museum-Estate

Excursion and Tasting at the Winery

It is difficult to imagine a trip to Kakheti without visiting the local wine production. The next item on our tour will be a visit to the modern Georgian winery, where we can personally see how the modern wine-making industry looks like, which is produced by the wonderful Georgian wines so loved by all of us. During the inspection of the winery you will be offered to try several varieties of wine and one brand of cognac. Favorite wines will be available at factory prices.

Telavi – the capital of Kakheti

Then we go on our way back to Tbilisi, but on the way you will have to visit Telavi, the capital of Kakheti, where you will see the residence of King Iracli II and his monument. One of the interesting points of the program is the Tree – Platan, which is more than 900 years old. This tree, in addition to its venerable age and huge size, was famous for shooting in the famous and beloved movie “Mimino”.
